I miss my little guy.

This morning I took my Buddy to school for his first day of 4th grade. I've been looking forward to this day for weeks now. I'll get time to myself! I'll clean out the closet! I'll turn the basement into a hip funky exercise room! I'll listen to books while I knit fabulous things! I'll have terrific healthy meals prepared every night! The house will be spotless and warm cookies will be waiting when he gets home!

But instead....I'm sitting here drinking re-heated coffee and writing this and feeling sad. I miss my little guy.

How can summer be over already? We only went to the pool once! We never got to the zoo...or the museum...or the farmer's market. We never went camping. We didn't do half of the things that I wanted to do for him this summer. And for that I feel pretty crappy. But we did cuddle every morning. We played together. We laughed. We learned a lot...about each other. Every day.
